Assessment Summary
Assessment is an ongoing process throughout the course of study. Questioning strategies, journal writing and discussions such as fish bowl discussions and general classroom discussions are used throughout the unit to help students explore important questions, stimulate thinking, and reflect on learning. Research log, material and design research worksheets help both students and teacher to understand content, keep abreast with latest information and monitor progress. Questions posed in Query Corner helps teacher to keep track on student thinking and learning. Multimedia evaluation rubric, brochure score sheet and wiki rubric guide students in their learning, help them stay on track, and self-assess their progress. Team effort and group participation is assessed using collaboration rubric. Student learning is assessed by conducting a debate and organising a symposium. Also, students reflect on their learning in a reflective journal on contributing to making a better tomorrow.
