Use How is it different today? handout to access students’ prior knowledge and generate discussion about inventions. Through questioning and discussions throughout the project assess their knowledge and understanding and help students develop their higher order thinking skills and process content. Use research report to assess whether they have compiled relevant information. Use interview checklist to help students prepare for interview and peer assess the interview. Check students’ understanding about the scientist/inventor during interview. Use the Visual Ranking Tool ranking and comments to assess students’ knowledge about different inventions and their importance. Use invention assessment tool to help students monitor their progress while creating their invention and understand the expectations from their invention. Use essay to help students reflect on the entire project and share their experience.
