Content Articles reflect critical thinking, synthesis of information from different sources, and historical thinking, and include the following:
  • Explanation of current issues in a historical context
  • Description of people who have played a role in the human rights movement in the country, including personal characteristics and political and social conditions that contributed to their success
  • Editorial to persuade readers to support the movement and information on how to get involved
Articles address all of the following required components to some degree, although some are not be as in-depth as others:
  • Explanation of current issues in a historical context
  • Description of people who have played a role in the human rights movement in the country, including personal characteristics and political and social conditions that contributed to their success
  • Editorial to persuade readers to support the movement and information on how to get involved
Articles are missing one or more of the following components and/or address requirements superficially:

Articles fail to address the following requirements in major ways:

Writing Newsletter articles are well written, interesting, and engage the reader. Newsletter articles are well organized, clear, and coherent. Newsletter articles are somewhat poorly written. Newsletter articles are poorly written.
Mechanics Newsletter content has been carefully edited and is error free. Newsletter content has no errors that detract from meaning. Newsletter content has some errors that detract from meaning. Articles have numerous errors that detract from meaning.

Participation All group members participated equally and treated each other with respect.
