Assessment
Before learning activities begin
The presentation is shown to students so the teacher can observe what students prior knowledge is. The teacher questions students and encourage class discussion about moving.

While students work on learning activities
Student-centered learning tasks allow for the teacher to be concurrently observing and questioning students on their knowledge. The teacher can address any lack of knowledge or understanding at that time, individually with students. The teacher also takes anecdotal notes to check for levels of understanding. The teacher assesses students deep understanding of movement and energy through their explanations of their toy car experiments.

After learning activities end
The student presentation can be used to show the level of understanding of content questions.

Students should complete the self assessment independently, allowing students to reflect on the learning and the topic, as well as enabling the teacher to take notes on the activities students enjoyed and their acquired knowledge. This will be helpful to development and delivery of the unit in the future.

Written assessment clearly shows the students understanding of the topic.
